Tim Pine has over 35 years of experience in product safety and quality engineering & management in the toy and children’s products industries, which includes senior vice president of product safety and quality assurance with Hasbro, Inc., global director of apparel product Integrity with Nike, inc., and vice president of product integrity with Fisher-Price, Inc. Since 2008, he has served as an expert witness in product liability lawsuits involving serious child and adult injuries associated with toys and other products.
Professional Accreditations:
Mr. Pine earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from California State Polytechnic University and a Master of Business Administration degree with concentration in Quantitative Analysis and Operations Management from the University of Cincinnati. He is a Registered Professional Engineer in the state of California. He is certified in Quality and Reliability Engineering by the American Society for Quality, and also in Product Safety Management by the International Board for Certification of Safety Managers.
Professional Memberships:
Mr. Pine is a member of the toy industry Safety Standards and Technical Committee where he participates in the development and maintenance of national and international toy safety standards. He is also a member of the ASTM Toy Safety and Consumer Products committees. He was a member of the National Bureau of Standards Toy Safety Committee that developed and published the first industry toy safety standard now known as ASTM F963. He is a Senior Member of the American Society for Quality.
Teaching and Publishing:
For many years Mr. Pine has been a speaker at various Toy Industry Association seminars on product safety, reliability, and quality management. He was a Keynote speaker on quality engineering and product safety at an International Consumer Product Health and Safety Organization (ICPHSO) annual conference. He has been an instructor at the University of Saint Louis product safety certification workshop.
